Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (ESV)
Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil;
That hope is not movable, it is like an anchor holding a ship steadfastly amidst a storm, held securely at the bottom of the sea! The rougher the weather, the more the steadfastness of the anchor is vital for the safety of the ship. This is a beautiful symbol of the hope we have in Christ, our anchor! And like the anchor of a ship, if not securely and correctly attached, the ship is in danger as well as those which may be anchored nearby. Realizing the anchor is there and ready to be used is only part of the ship's safety. If it is not attached to a chain and line and then connected to the ship, it is impossible for the anchor to do its job of support, security and stability. This is the same with your spiritual life in Christ. Do you consider Him to just be there? In the next few posts, let's examine our lives to investigate whether or not we are anchored securely and confidently in Christ in order to experience the hope and peace He wants us to have.
