...acceptable to God

Psalms 119:148 says, “My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises” (New International Version).

Meditation is an important part of staying connected to our Lord and keeping our relationship with Him on track. But, it is imperative that you follow the examples given in His Word, meditating on Him and His promises as given in the Bible! The heart and mind are synonymous in the Bible, and what goes on in our mind drives every action but heart also emphasizes the functions of thought, attitudes, emotions, personality and character traits. God judges us largely by what is taking place in our hearts. “For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). The Bible was originally written almost entirely in Hebrew and Greek. A particular word may be translated think in one English translation and meditate in another translation, or with similar words such as ponder, consider, imagine or muse. It is simply directed thinking, reflection, contemplation or concentration. So, with the guidance of the Word, find a quiet, comfortable place and take time—make time—for God! Meditate on God's words and works, interspersing it with prayer and self searching. Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

I encourage you to spend some quality time with Him today! You won't regret it.
